Given my focus on 3D, texturing, and animation, you'd think modding for a game like Faster Than Light would be... "setting the bar low" so to speak. But it's actually turned out to be a fantastic inspiration, and in a completely unexpected direction. Long story short, I've had numerous computer issues that eventually necessitated a complete reinstall of my OS, and all subsequent updates. I'm still using XP because fuck off, and of course a full reinstall means all the software I'd been running too. I have about a dozen unfinished "scenes" in 3DS Max, scraps of character designs I would poke at and never quite figure out how to complete. I get entirely too hung up on intricate details, rigging issues, you name it, and eventually fall short of actually animating anything with these scrap-box polygons. Last night I decided I would make a concentrated effort to cut to the chase - a simple, low-detail character I could use purely as my animation puppet. I've stalled out on too many projects, entirely too many, and I desperately need something to show actual progress. I have all the tools I could ever need, I just need to find my focus. ___
